Watering rounds start at 0700 – you can change this individually, with mutual agreement between driver and waterer.
Remove tarpaulin at start and replace the tarpaulin after round
Check the trailer brake is OFF before you start
Remove the plug at the top of the POD before starting to water.
Turn tap on at the hose- pod connection
Each tree requires 30 litres (three Bunnings buckets full). Generally work out with counting how long to fill a Bunnings bucket, multiple by 3 and that is the water for each tree. Eg it takes me a count of 25 to fill one bucket – therefore each tree gets watered for a count of 75 for me. Everyone is different, and water will flow slower as the pod empties.
The water flow is gravity driven so you need to drop the hose nozzle to tree level and water flow will slow as the POD empties.
Your POD should be pretty empty by the time you finish your round.
It’s better to run out of water rather than underwater – if you run out, just text Anne to let her know which trees did not receive water.
When you finish, coil hose neatly so that the POD hose connection has no kinks – especially where it connects to the tap.
There are pots in the green bucket in the POD with base cut out to put around the base of trees which need protection from wayward whipper-snippers.
Text Anne at the end of round if you have any concerns about a tree, the POD etc
Tuesday round – at Stella Maris open space, please make sure you water all the pines including the lonely one at the northern end of the open space, next to the big Moreton Bay fig.
