National Tree Day

The Geraldton Tree Canopy Advocates plant trees over several months to make the most of our winter rains, and spread the work of digging over time so we don’t wear our steadfast volunteers out.

Plant Ark’s National Tree Day started in 1996, and GTCA plans to celebrate the day on Sunday July 27 2025 at 10:00 am, by planting a couple of Moreton Bay Figs on Stella Maris Drive. Come along to meet others who share your passion for trees and celebrate growing big things from little things.

July 27

Everyone welcome – we would love you to join us even if you don’t feel like getting your hands (or knees) dirty. It’s a lovely opportunity to get together, chat, and perhaps share a coffee afterwards.

Of course, the winter storms had other plans for the day, and the trees were planted the following day with a much smaller (but still very enthusiastic) group.

If you plant a tree on your own property, we find it so encouraging to know that people are helping even when we can’t see it – let us know, let CGG know and let National Tree Day know. We love to hear about each little step forward.
